FAQs

Questions people ask before starting a story.

Answers about curated keepsakes, gifting, ownership, privacy, photographs, editing, timelines, payments, and the worry almost everyone has: what if I do not know how to write this?

Starting a StoriLeaf keepsake

What is StoriLeaf?

StoriLeaf is a personal story keepsake service. You choose the kind of story you want to keep, answer thoughtful prompts, add photographs where they help, and build towards a finished story your family can read, gift, or revisit.

Which curated keepsakes are available now?

The live StoriLeaf curated keepsakes are Life Story, Travel Memoir, Relationship Memoir, Founder's Memoir, Parent to Child Letters, and Celebrating Occasions.

Can one account have more than one keepsake?

Yes. One person can start or gift more than one keepsake over time. For example, you might begin with a parent's Life Story and later create a Travel Memoir for a family journey.

Gifting, ownership, and family roles

Can I gift a StoriLeaf keepsake to someone else?

Yes. StoriLeaf is designed for gifting. The buyer can start the gift, add a personal message, and invite the storyteller. The storyteller remains the centre of the experience, and their voice should guide the final story.

Who owns the story?

The storyteller or rightful content owner keeps ownership of the stories, photographs, recordings, and other material they provide. StoriLeaf uses that material to deliver the selected story experience.

Can family members help?

Yes. Family members can help gather dates, names, photographs, places, and context. They should not replace the storyteller's voice unless the storyteller has asked them to help in that way.

What if the buyer and storyteller are different people?

That is expected for many gifts. The buyer can support the project, but the storyteller's memories, consent, and comfort remain important throughout the process.

Writing, photos, and books

Do I need to be a writer?

No. StoriLeaf is built for people who do not know where to start. Instead of a blank page, you answer guided questions in your own words. The story builds gradually from what you share.

Do I have to answer every question?

No. The goal is not to complete every prompt. The goal is to keep the memories that matter: the people, places, lessons, photographs, and details your family would miss if they were never written down.

Can I upload photos?

Yes. Photographs are an important part of many StoriLeaf keepsakes. Photo limits and placement options may vary by keepsake and package.

Can I use voice instead of typing?

Some packages may include voice input or audio-based support. Availability depends on the selected keepsake and package.

Does every curated keepsake become a book?

Yes. Because we believe books stay through generations and can be held precious.

Editing, review, and finishing

Who writes the story?

The story comes from the storyteller's own memories and words. StoriLeaf gives those memories structure, context, and polish so they can become something the family can actually read.

Is there human editing?

StoriLeaf shapes each finished book with care. Details for each package are on the pricing page. Personal stories should never be treated like generic content.

Can I review the story before it is finished?

Where a keepsake includes an edited draft, you can review it before final production. The exact review process depends on the keepsake and package.

Can I make changes after submitting my material?

Before final submission, you can continue shaping your answers. After submission, changes may be limited to corrections or review-stage adjustments, depending on the package and how far production has progressed.

Timelines, payments, and support

How long does a StoriLeaf project take?

It depends on the keepsake, package, and storyteller's pace. Some people answer steadily over a few weeks; others need more time because memories arrive slowly or family members are helping from different places.

Is StoriLeaf a subscription?

No. StoriLeaf packages use one-time payments, not an open-ended subscription.

Can I extend or upgrade later?

Some keepsakes may allow extensions or upgrades before final submission. Availability and pricing can be confirmed for the selected keepsake and package.

What payment methods are accepted?

StoriLeaf uses secure online payments. Available payment methods and currencies may vary by market and are shown when you choose a package.

How do I get help?

Start by choosing the curated keepsake that feels closest to the story. If you still have a specific question, use the contact form with the keepsake, timing, and any details you already know.

Privacy and security

Is my story private?

Personal stories and photographs are treated as private material. StoriLeaf does not share your stories publicly without permission.

Who can access my material?

Access is limited to the storyteller, authorised account users, and StoriLeaf team members or service providers who need access to deliver the selected service.

Can I delete my story material?

You can use the contact form to ask about deleting story material. Some records may need to be retained for payment, production, support, legal, or security reasons, but private story content should not be kept longer than needed for the selected service.

What kind of content should I avoid uploading?

Do not upload material you do not have permission to use, highly sensitive third-party information without consent, or anything unlawful. Family stories often include other people, so it is important to be thoughtful about privacy.
